Top Three Mindset Books Every New to New-ish Real Estate Agent Should Read.
By now, you’ve already gotten advice from your broker about books you should be reading to kick-start your real estate career.
Although I’m not your broker, I’ve been working with insurance agents and small business owners for a long time, and the mindset challenges are similar across industries. So, here are my recommendations for books every new to new-ish real estate agent should read as they embark on their entrepreneurial journey:

This is my hands-down, #1 book that every single entrepreneur (and person, for that matter), should read. I read this book way back when…and out of all the personal development books I’ve read since (a whole bunch!), this one still reigns supreme.
I picked up this book in an effort to help my oldest son (he was at the time around 10 years old) in baseball. It was clear that he was struggling at the plate not because of any physical issue, but because of what was going on in his head.
I thought this might be just the “fix” I needed to help him.
What I got out of it was WAAAAAY more than I bargained for. It was unexpected. What I learned was that the problem wasn’t him, it was ME. And that started me on a journey to, quite simply, be a better person and human being (still very much a work in progress, tho. LOL)
It’s a gift for yourself or for a loved one that you can’t beat for under $10.
2. THE SUCCESS PRINCIPLES by Jack Canfield.
This is another “required reading”. No excuses about not-having-time here, because the chapters are short and quick reads. You can get a gold nugget of advice from Jack himself, in the few minutes before you nod off to sleep. My advice—keep it on your bedside table, and read a chapter or two a night.
3. THE SEVEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE by Stephen Covey
I’ll be the first to admit that this book wasn’t easy to get through. But I promise that if you do, it’ll be a game changer. I recommended this book to a friend and she agreed—not easy to get through but can immensely and positively impact many facets of your life and business….your productivity, the work you do, and your relationships. Make sure this gets to the top of your list of “hard things that move your business forward”.
